ROOK ENDINGS


Take a closer look at this endgame, it seems impossible for Black to hold this game. However, by use of some simple techniques Black can draw the game quite easily.

The technique is fairly simple. Black waits until White pushes the pawns foward, then seizes the chance to check the White king from afar. Notice that after White's seventh move, Rb7+ that Black is left in a stalemate position and uses this fact to harrass the White king with his rook.
